Modernity, Secularism and Islam

The modern secular world claims to provide opportunities for all without imposing religion on the society. Yet critics argue that secularism removes the right for individuals to practice their own religion freely. Faith-based governmental systems, although prevalent historically, are now the subject of much criticism in the modern world. This section will analyze the contrasting views of secularism and compare them with the first Islamic state established by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) 1400 years ago.
